From Small-Town Roots to Transformational Dentistry: Dr. Adam Frounfelter’s Inspiring Journey

A Family Legacy of Dental Care
Born in northern Indiana, Dr. Frounfelter grew up immersed in dentistry. His father’s dental practice was more than a business—it was a cornerstone of their community. Dr. Frounfelter recalls his father’s ability to make everyone feel important and the deep trust his patients had in him. This legacy of care inspired not only Adam but also two of his brothers, who also became dentists.
“Watching my dad give back to the community through his work and relationships made me think, ‘That’s who I want to be,’” Dr. Frounfelter shared.
Building a Dental Practice Vision
After earning his dental degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry—where he also met his wife, Allie—Dr. Frounfelter joined her father’s practice in Evansville, Indiana. Over time, Adam and Allie purchased the practice and began modernizing it, expanding services to include surgery and cosmetic dentistry.
But growth came with challenges. As their practice expanded to a 12-operatory facility, the workload became overwhelming. “We were so busy it felt like the business was running us instead of the other way around,” Dr. Frounfelter admitted.
The Turning Point
The catalyst for change came unexpectedly. After suffering a rotator cuff injury, Dr. Frounfelter was forced to step back and reassess. At the same time, Allie discovered a mastermind group focused on innovative dental techniques. Attending their workshop in 2022 became a defining moment for their practice.
“We decided to focus on what we loved—full-arch dentistry,” he explained. By carving out dedicated time for full-arch cases, building a specialized team, and adopting a fully digital workflow, the practice underwent a remarkable transformation.
Transformational Results
The shift to full-arch dentistry has been nothing short of extraordinary. In 2022, they completed 11 full-arch cases; by 2023, that number skyrocketed to 93. More importantly, the impact on patients’ lives has been profound.
“Seeing someone smile for the first time in years is indescribable,” Dr. Frounfelter said. “It’s transformational dentistry at its best.”
