One of the things that was holding them back was their no-show rate which had skyrocketed in just the last few weeks.
There’s a couple of things that went into play for that. The doctor was out of the office because of the birth of a baby, which is totally fine. However, he was aware of how important it is that we schedule appointments sooner rather than later.
If we schedule appointments too far out, what’s going to happen is if the lead is ready to move forward with treatment and you’re not available at their convenience, they might just end up finding another office down the street.
Another instance could be that they may feel like they’re not important to you when you schedule their appointment at a much later date, so they’ll find another office down the street that will be more willing to take care of them sooner. These are just some things to keep in mind. You want to make sure you’re scheduling these consultations, hopefully within three days, no longer than five. It is very, very important that you make room in your schedule for these consultations so you don’t get into a situation where you have to schedule them so far out.
Getting a Card on File Can Help Guarantee That Dental Implant Patients Keep Their Scheduled Appointments
The second thing that was holding them back was that the team stopped asking for a deposit for these appointments. One thing that we have tried and tested to make sure people come to their appointments – is getting a card on file.
Requiring a Deposit to Hold an Appointment Makes a Big Difference in Preventing No-shows
It ultimately depends on the area that you’re located in, whether people will be willing to give a deposit to hold their appointment. However, for the majority of cases, the deposit makes a big difference. That, or a no call, no show fee.
The patient would have to pay a deposit right away to hold their appointment time, but for the no call, no show fee – their card would only be charged when they either don’t show up to their appointment, or don’t give ample time when canceling or rescheduling the appointment.
Whatever works best in your area, it is key to get that card on file to make sure that the potential patient honors that time, which ultimately creates a level of respect between you and that person.
